You need Groggo to be as tanky as possible. Keep in mind these are just general recommendations, you will need to alter your rune and stat builds based on what content you want to use this monster for and what team you are using him with.
GROGGO BUILDS / STRATEGY
in the early game build, you don't really need a lot of speed on him. Just put your best tanky runes on him so that he can take a lot of damage in Guild content.
To get the most out of him and to clear debuffs faster, he should be built on Violent. Will is good to prevent Oblivion or Def break. Fight would be good here also to give your damage dealer monsters more juice. You'll need speed on him so he can get his DEF and Immunity up.
•Groggo in Summoners War is a super tanky monster that can only lose a max of 20% health per hit.
•He can boost his DEF and give himself immunity.
•His 1st skill can stun and provoke.
•Multi Hit Defense Breakers like Lushen cancels his passive.
•Tesarion can oblivion him making his passive useless.
•His Debuffs max at 55%.
GB12 (0/10): Groggo doesn't offer enough in Giants B12 to be useful.
DB12 (5/10): He is not recommended in Dragons B12.
NB12 (4/10): Since he's a light attribute, he can be used in Necro B12 to take all the damage if your team is sturggling to survive.
SF10 (0/10): You want Beneficial blocks and nukers to take down the Steel Fortress B10.
PC10 (0/10): He doesn't offer enough to be useful here.
ToA (1/10): You mainly want AoE Crow Control teams to farm Tower of Ascension.
Rift of Worlds (7/10): He can be used as a front line tank and Def breaker in R5.
Labyrinth (1/10): He's not very useful here.
Dimensional Hole (0/10): He isn't recommended to farm D-Hole.
Arena (0/10): He can be Lushened on Def and doesn't offer enough on Offense.
Guild Wars (8/10): He shines here due to his ability to deal with big single target damage dealing monsters.
RTA (4/10): He can be used in niche situations. However, he'll be replaced as you get better monsters.
